Specialty: Bounty Hunting, particularly vampires.
Abilities: Despite her youth If is a surprisingly strong human. She has been very successful in her hunting in her life thus far. While a part of it may be attributed to the fact that she’s constantly being underestimated since she is a human, it largely does stem from her own strength and knowledge of the weaknesses of the various supernatural creatures that dominate her world.

More than anything it boils down to her knowledge and readiness to do anything to defend her small niche of humanity in a world where humans are at best, seen as playthings. When compared to demons she may not have a lot of physical strength, but her studies have taught her the weaknesses and deterrents of many, and with her speed she’s usually able to at least ward them off.

Weapon: Various weapons, but especially knives. She has all sorts of potions, items, and magical tags at her disposal.

Personality: In her every day life If can be stern, but in some ways the eternal youth granted upon her seems to have effected her emotionally as well as physically. She’s responsible and mindful of her duties and always quick to warn people of dangerous or foolish actions they are taking, but she still gets easily excited over cute things, still can be really stubborn and hotheaded and think that she is always in the right. She can be quick to get irritated but she is also quick to forgive–unless you are a vampire, the species she holds the biggest grudge against.

When it comes to humans If is very proud. Indeed, even to the point that she rather resents the eternal youth that she was given, especially considering the circumstances under which it was given to her. She sees them stronger than most in the sense that they have none of the physical or magical advantages of other species, and yet they are still alive, kicking, and making their own. While she won’t immediately go into attack mode against other species, if they in anyway threaten her home or a human she’ll be quick to defend. While she won’t exactly be buddy, buddy with most demons she’ll at least be willing to hear them out. The exception to this rule would be vampires, whom she detests with a passion.

When it comes to her work she is much, much more serious and no so easily caught up in the frivolous. If has grown up seeing her home maltreated by all kinds, and has especially felt the loss of many of her young female friends to vampires and demons. Once she marks someone as a threat she becomes like a machine in hunting them down, and making sure that they will not hurt anyone.

History: If’s childhood story is a dime a dozen. She lives in a world where humans are a minority, likely even considered an endangered species. In this world most other species are violent, sadistic, and at best take their own supernatural constitution for granted and so simply do not know the frailty of the human body. More commonly, however, people are very aware of how weak humans tend to be, and so see them are playthings and fodder.

So children growing up without parents, parents losing children, people losing friends, siblings, and lovers? It’s not new. It’s nothing unusual. In fact it would be more unusual to find someone who hasn’t lost a person, and whole families are treasured and given more protection.

It’s not to say that If doesn’t feel sad about the loss of her parents as such a young age, but she fully recognizes that she is not the only person who can lay claim to such a tragedy, and so she instead tries her best to focus on keeping the people that she still has in her life.

What does make If stand out from others from her hometown, however, was her fierce determination to prevent more of these tragedies from occurring. From much too young an age she began taking up her parent’s mantle as a bounty hunter and she truly proved to be their child. She was a hasty child drunk on dreams of creating a safe haven for humans.

As she grew up she knew that this was not a task that would be completed in her lifetime, but she was damned determined to do her best to help that dream along.

When she was eighteen she came across a demon who had taken a liking to her. Knowing how quickly humans age, he then ‘blessed’ her with eternal youth, something that for most people would appear to be a good thing, but for If was a grave insult. He was her first real kill–up until then she had only managed to incapacitate demons or drive them off.

Since then she’s been trying to find a way to lift the spell, without much success, and has continued her duty in being the primary protector of her home.
